Since most of us have been asked to work from home due to the spread of COVID-19, we want to help you guys maximize your freedom and responsibility while working at home.
If you're not used to the whole work-at-home thing, it might be great but it can also be problematic if it’s not well managed. Here are 5 tips and tricks to successfully manage your working hours at home.
Set Real Working Hours. If your working space or area is already set up, it’s time to get down to business. Make sure to set realistic working hours or business hours. Even if you can be flexible in your working hours there can still be a tendency to work nonstop, so it’s good to set a limit.
Update Your To-do List Every Morning. Since it can be challenging to keep track of what you have to do, it’s easy to lose sight of your priorities, tasks, and deadlines. To battle this, it’s important to review all your priorities for the day and stick to your task list.
Use A Planner or A Calendar. These can help you in organizing and reviewing your priority list and also keeping track of deadlines, appointments, and online meetings.
Don’t Work in the Living Room or on Your Bed. This can be a productivity killer. Avoid watching TV and other digital distractions, and stick to your working hours so you can focus on work and get things done. Playing some music to increase your motivation can be helpful too.
Lastly, Take Short Breaks. Even if we focus on being productive while working at home, too much of it can sometimes get you stressed, which will in turn cause fatigue-induced negativity to sneak into your home. It’s important to take deep breaths and take short breaks to keep your mind sane.
