Not Your Usual Coffee Table Book

Chiropractic doctor shares important practices for knee health in brief, engaging manual

Dr. William Ruch was a carpenter, a foreman, and then a superintendent for a residential remodeling company. Later, he went into chiropractic college. Driven by the motivation from his many patients to get rational care to as many people as possible, he gifts the rest of us a book to realize the importance of the tibia and its care.

Got Knee Pain? Where is Your Tibia is a brief manual that Dr. Ruch has put together to help readers evaluate the position of the tibia, provide realigning maneuvers to keep it in place, and know what not to do. He also shares a key finding of his decades of chiropractic work: the tibia misaligned with the femur is a common cause for knee pain. He hopes to get the message across that with enough information and proper care, knee pain is treatable and a person can regain mobility and stay independent.

“The tibia out of place is the source of knee arthritis,” Dr. Ruch says in the book, and then further explains how it can be treated. If there is anyone he wishes to dedicate the book to, it would be “the patients that suffer from preventable knee pain.”

Got Knee Pain? Where is Your Tibia is an important addition to anyone's self-help shelf. Knees, despite the clearly vital role they play in our bodies, are largely ignored—at least in the area of rational care. This book is a must-read, especially for those with injured knees, or even for those who just wish to take better care of their physical bodies.
